Mindfulness Practices

We believe that true healing happens when individuals learn to live fully in the present moment — which is why mindfulness and meditation practices are an essential part of our recovery program. Mindfulness teaches clients to slow down, become aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, and respond to life’s challenges with clarity and calm.
Through guided meditation, breathwork, body scans, and mindful movement, clients learn to observe their inner experiences without judgment. These practices help reduce stress, anxiety, and cravings while improving emotional regulation, focus, and overall well-being. Mindfulness also strengthens the ability to pause, reflect, and make healthy, intentional choices — a vital skill in addiction recovery.
At Design Recovery, we incorporate mindfulness and meditation into daily programming, group therapy, and eco-adventure activities. Our trauma-informed approach ensures that these practices feel safe, accessible, and supportive for individuals at every stage of recovery.
